I would actually like to see a casino in the Rockford area. If we do not have one, Beloit will. I do not gamble, but other people do, so why give that money to Wisconsin? Sen. Syverson has been working hard on improving the business climate, which in Illinois is an uphill battle with the tax-and-spend Democrats in charge. We keep scaring away business opportunities in the Rockford area. We already scared away Fat Wallet and other internet based companies because of taxes. We need to get our heads out of our butts and worry about the economy instead of social issues and trying to restrict the actions and freedoms of others. If you don't like gambling...then don't gamble. It is simple. Why restrict the freedom of others and tell them what they can and cannot do? Sounds like a Big Government mentality to me. I am glad that Sen. Syverson is focusing on the economy instead of restricting the freedoms of others in a state where 211 new laws were just passed to repress instead of protect. This is why Illinois and New Jersey are the two top states that people are leaving.

Illinois is a mess. If we could sell our houses and not have to give them away my family would all move.

I'm not a fan of casinos, and the whole gambling/drinking dens that they are.

I'd rather see more emphasis on upgrading the schools, so that interested businesses thinking about coming here would have that as a 'perk' to moving here (it has changed SO much since I went to school here- and not for the good).

Also need the roads addressed. WHY do some roads have a more concrete surface (with fewer potholes) and others have asphalt- that need repairs at least once yearly in the same places...??? How is that financially 'sane'?? Puri Pkwy in front of Logli's on E.State is a pit. It's early this season....by spring, it will be a free for all, dodging the pot holes while not running into other cars.

Thanks, Dave- will definitely miss having you as the rep for the area I'm in- not happy about that ....

I am bothered by the lack of spending controls by our state government. I am willing to pay the additional tax that citizens of Illinois have been subjected to, but I expected to actually make progress as a result. It is clear that is not happening currently. I didn't like Brady and I am beginning to like Quinn less. Have you any aspirations to run for Governor? We certainly could use someone that has actual integrity AND effectiveness. Is anyone on the horizon with a clue that you know about? I need some hope for the economic future of Illinois, without just kicking the can down the road to the next generations.
