Facing Fiscal Reality

Earlier this year, we introduced a plan to get Illinois' back on the right track.

Unless we take major steps immediately to curb government spending, Illinois is going to face a $22 billion deficit in five years time. That’s a figure that nobody – not even the Governor’s Office – has disputed. The plan we put forth today, while difficult, puts Illinois firmly on the path of the fiscal discipline that’s been sorely lacking in Springfield during the past decade.
