Illinois Chamber of Commerce President Doug Whitley announced today that the IL Chamber of Commerce is endorsing Senator Dave Syverson. The IL Chamber of Commerce is the largest organization representing job creators in the State of Illinois.

“Senator Syverson has been a great friend to job creators.  He has worked to pass meaningful legislation that makes it easier for businesses to do business in this state,” commented Whitley. “If we had more legislators like Dave in Springfield, Illinois would have lower unemployment, more good paying local jobs, and we would be talking about a budget surplus, rather than a deficit.”

Whitley and Syverson spent part of the day touring businesses in DeKalb and Boone County and talking with local Chamber of Commerce members.  The tour culminated at a press conference at M & R Custom Millwork, a local manufacturing facility.

“As a citizen legislator, I have made it a point to work with business owners and job creators to help put our state back on the path to economic prosperity,” said Syverson.  “In Illinois we are certainly facing real challenges, however I believe with leaders like Doug, and our small businesses community, we can come together to bring about real, substantive changes to create good paying jobs.”

Syverson has also received support from other business organizations including Illinois Manufacturers Association, NFIB and the Tooling and Manufacturing Association
